Former Kingston Prison, Portsmouth Development

Kingston Prison is a famous site known for playing its part in the city of Portsmouths history. For many decades the only way to get a bed behind the walls of Kingston Prison was to have committed some of the worst crimes imaginable.

But now, nearly a decade after the notorious jail, based in Milton, Portsmouth, closed down and the final prisoners were removed, people have been clamouring at the opportunity to live there following the complete development and rennovation of the interior.

Fusion have been working with Drew Smith (now Countrywide Properties) to provide a new addressable fire alarm that links to a sprinkler system throughout the blocks.

The end result is a system that allows for each individual sprinkler head in the apartments to be connected to an input on the fire alarm system, resulting in an activation of the fire alarm and notification of the brigade.

This method of fire protection is now being rolled out at many other similar sites.

We look forward to an excellent working partnership with this fantastic and historical site.
